Hadhrat Sayyid Nūr Muhammad Badāyūni, may Allah be pleased with him, was one of the shining pearls of the Naqshbandi order. He was a Sayyid, that is, a descendant of the Messenger of Allah, sallAllahu alaihi waSallam.

He completed the study of the Islamic sciences at the age of eighteen, from his teacher Muhammad Sharīf (d. 1124H/1712).

He received sufi training and spiritual blessings from Khwaja Muhammad Saif ad-Dīn Sirhindi Fārūqi, the grandson of Imam Rabbani Shaykh Ahmad Sirhindi. After his shaykh’s demise, he received spiritual guidance from Hadhrat Hāfiz Muhammad Mohsin Dehlavi, who was the grandson of Shaykh Abdul Haqq Muhaddis Dehlavi.

Nur Muhammad al-Badawani
May Allah Sanctify His Soul

"Hear, O faqir: every time I was lacking something, great or small, and turned away from it in turning towards my Lord, I found it there in front of me, thanks to the power of Him who hears and knows. We see that the needs of ordinary people are filled by paying attention to them, whereas the needs of the elect are filled by the very fact that they turn away from them and concentrate upon God.

"He who by remembering Me is distracted from his petition, will receive more than those who ask" (hadIth qudsI).

Mulay al-cArabi ad-Darqawi.

He was a descendant of the Prophet . His light was powered by the Heavenly Station. He poured into the confused hearts of his time, peace and happiness, until he became the Appearance of every Favor and a Means to Allah Almighty and Exalted, for every person in his time. Through him God has renewed the Divine law, sharica and the spiritual reality, haqiqa, like the full moon on a dark night. How many a Sunnah that had been discarded did he revive and how many innovations that had been instigated did he remove?

Narrated by Ubayy ibn Ka'b (Radi Allah Ta'lah Anhu): "I said: Allah's Messenger (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wasallam), I invoke blessings upon you very frequently. How much of my supplication should I devote to you. He said: As much as you like. I said: May it be a quarter? He said: As much as you like, but if you increase it, it will be good for you. I said: May it be a half? He said: As much as you like, but if you increase it, it will be good for you. I said: May it be two thirds? He said: As much as you like but if you make an increase in it, it will be better. I said: May I devote the whole of my supplication to you (that I make in my prayer)? Thereupon he said: In that case it will take care of you and your sins would be expiated."
